May 5 - First Dairy Dream of the Season!

The Harveys invited us over for a fun play date and to teach me how to make her amazing chocolate-covered strawberries with white chocolate drizzle!  Unfortunately, I forgot to snap a picture of the finished product!

 I DID however snap a picture of these sweet friends that BOTH got glasses within weeks of eachother! Don't they look cute???

They also played a little flute together for us!

May 13 - First Grade Author's Tea

Austin at the First Grade Author's Tea where all the first graders write, illustrate, and present their own story. 

May 9, 2016 Spring Band Concert

Caroline's last concert at a flutist! She did a great job this year! 

May 7th - Kentucky Derby Party

We decided to host a Kentucky Derby Southern Soiree on derby day. 

I even convinced Caroline to wear this floral Lilly dress! (I think the fact that she got to make a hat with faux flowers helped!)

We had everyone place their bets...

We made southern Kentucky-style food and drinks - Hot Browns, Bourbon chicken, benedictine dip, chocolate pecan pie,  mint juleps, and sweet tea, and guests helped bringing homemade cornbread, southern salad, fruit, and lemon cupcakes.

Thankfully, Christie took these sweet pictures of the girls int heir southern dresses and hats!
