On Saturday, we made our annual trip to Oriole Springs Orchard to go apple picking! It is one of our favorite fall activities and we look forward to it every year.

Austin Michael turns one-and-a-half!
My baby turned one-and-a-half! I can hardly believe it! He is a little monster on the move. He is constantly moving. Constantly. He loves to get into trouble....unplugging all the nightlights, taking all the pots out of the cabinet, stealing all my monitors, climbing up on everything, dumping all the toys out of the bins, etc. etc.
He is my funky little eater. He still won't touch any type of fruit, and when given, instantly throws it on the floor. He does love "adult food" though - salmon, roasted vegetables, potatoes, any type of meat, etc. He says a few more words each and every day. ..(yesterday's was "milkshake!") He LOVES his lovey (a little giraffe he calls "rafa") and carries him around everywhere, clutching him to his face. He has very rapidly blooming personality and sense of independence. He knows exactly what he wants and when he doesn't get it, throws a huge tantrum. They are pretty hysterical sometimes. I'll try to get one on tape one of these days. He also loves to play with cars and trains, which he calls "Too Toos" (Choo Choos). He loves to run and tackle me, giving me huge hugs and toothy grins.
I love you Austin Michael! Happy Birthday!

Circus!
I took Caroline and Clayton to their first circus. I didn't get great pictures (it was very dark in the tent and I brouoght my crappy camera.) The kids had fun seeing the camels, elephants, tigers, trapeze and tumbling acts, etc. They also got their first taste of cotton candy. Clayton couldn't get enough!

Smores
We celebrated fall this past weekend with a fire pit. And, of course, you can't have a fire pit without smores!
Here we are roasting marshmallows and eating smores with our friends, the Harveys.

Turkey talk
Out of the mouth of three-year-old Clayton when we visited the turkeys at Lambs Farm...
"I eat turkey...but the plain kind, the kind without the face."

A family picture
We rarely take a photo of the 5 of us, but because we were having an extended family portrait taken for my mother-in-law, I th ought it would be a good opportunity. None of the photos turned out to be that "perfect" photo (if there is such a thing when children are involved), but at least we have a photo of the five of us together!
