Happy 39th birthday Daddy!
Kevin loves cookie dough, so for his birthday, I found a recipe for cookie dough brownies. It's not the healthiest thing in the world, but it IS his birthday, afterall. The kids loved helping and tasting! All three kids made Daddy a birthday card and Clayton and Caroline were able to sign their own names.
Happy Birthday to the best husband and Daddy around! We love you!
Libertyville Days
Normally we are at the lake during Libertyville Days, but this year, we were actually in town! I took Caroline and Clayton to the parade in town and then Kevin and I took all three to the carnival. They had a lot of fun! Clayton was still a little quiet due to his quick bout of torticollis a few days before, but he still had fun.
Bible Breakfast
I've found that the most effective way to get a little Bible reading with the kids in every day is to do it at breakfast. It's a time when they are all in the same place together for at least 10 minutes. We have dubbed it "Bible Breakfast". We keep our Children's Bibles in the kitchen, ready for our morning. It must be sinking in too because Caroline gets really excited and begs for more Bible! Yeah! And Clayton very seriously told me the other day that we should read the Bible every day. Right on little man!

Latest sewing projects
I squeezed in a little sewing time in the beginning of the summer to make a baby quilt for my new sweet niece, Makenna, and a pink twirly skirt for Caroline since that's all she wants to wear EVERY day.

Guess who's ready to start potty training?
and it's not Mama! However, when your two-year-old starts telling you he has to go potty about 20 times a day, you have no choice but to dive in!
Growing!
I admit it. I have a brown thumb. I am an expert at killing plants or growing severely challenged ones. The cute little seedlings the kids brought home from preschool? Already dead. Oops. Someday, I will take the time to research, read, and put more effort into my flower gardens and vegetable garden. Not today. Until then, I'll just have to wing it. I am very proud to say, however, that I have managed to grow a few carrot, cucumber, and bean plants. I don't know if I'll manage to keep them alive long enough for them to actually bear fruit (or vegetables in this case), so I'd better post a picture of them now.
