Photos from Butler Lake

Before the end of the summer, I wanted to do a "photo shoot" at one of our local parks. We have a lot of pictures from the summer, but they're mostly action shots from our everyday life. This time, I wanted something a little more frame-worthy.  I think we got some good shots!

 

 

 

 

Day Out with Thomas/Illinois Railway Museum

On Saturday, we visited Thomas the Train at the Illinois Railway Museum.  It was definitely a good family excursion. 

As we entered, Clayton was thrilled to see this old train gate.

 Thomas the train pulled up and the conductor took our tickets...

We climbed aboard...

and got to ride aboard a passenger car pulled by Thomas himself!

 After the Thomas ride, we got to explore all of the other old rail cars, streetcars, and other train equipment. We also got to ride on 2 old streetcars and an old wooden El car that used to run in downtown Evanston.  So fun!

Anyone that likes trains should definitely visit this place - Illinois Railway Museum.



One Day, One Church

Our church hosted a "One Day, One Church" worship service/picnic/baptism at Banner day camp. It was a really fun event and hope they do it again next year. Banner day camp is such a COOL place. I would love to spend more time exploring and taking advantage of all it has to offer.
