Why?

Why do little boys feel the need to get into trouble so frequently? In my experience, they get into WAY more trouble than girls and make me want to pull my hair out by the root on a semi-regular basis.
For example, a certain boy I know ended up in the ER this week at 6 am Monday morning with a bottom lip nearly cut in half. (In his defense, he fell out of bed while sleeping and just happened to land on the side of his bed mouth-first).
The same boy was found standing on a shaky side table trying to get something off the top of my tall bookshelf.
The same boy was found in my bathroom after we heard a giant crash, with the ENTIRE toilet seat, both lid and seat broken off and on the floor. ???? (He was climbing up to reach scissors...)
The same boy pitched an epic tantrum because his shirt had too many buttons.
The same boy pitched another epic tantrum and spent 2 hours at the table over 3 bites of vegetables.
The same boy found nail scissors and butchered off his hair...in the front...again.
The same boy was found "seeing what would happen" if he soaked brightly colored playdough in water and then "painted" the bathroom sink, and counter, and....
The same boy was found with a hammer and nails (from Daddy's locked office) seeing if he could hammer the rug to the wood floor. (Thankfully the culprits were caught before any damage was done.)
The same boy regularly fishes all manner of things out of the trash, cuts them up, and then ties them to anything and everything.
The same boy ties every rope, string, pieces of yarn he can get his hands on onto anything and everything.
The same boy takes apart anything that requires batteries and switches them out on a regular basis, leaving discarded, half-used batteries all over the house, and no new batteries in the drawer.
The same boy has been found to climb on anything to retrieve extension cords, his "toy" of choice, no matter how high we put them or where we hide them.
And this is just one week.
I love you dearly, my dear boy, but you might just land me in the nut house!
