Easter

Easter outfits.
Yep - I'm gonna be one of those mom's that makes her kids match as long as I can get away with it!

We started with an easter egg hunt at our house. Clayton was thrilled with his fireman rain boots and Caroline got the little umbrella she has been begging for for ages.

We attended church (the most important part of the day) and then headed to Westmoreland for brunch with BB, Papa, GG, and Aunt Joanie. The kids got to do more egg hunting outside.

Then back to BB and Papa's house for naps and then another easter egg hunt.

Then over to Aunt Kim and Uncle JIm's for Easter dinner. (No pics unfortunately. I left my camera at home!)

Getting ready for Easter...

The kids decorated foam easter eggs and proudly decorated their rooms.

We dyed real easter eggs.

We then "played" easter bunny. Wearing their bunny ears, we walked around the neighborhood putting candy-filled eggs in our friends' mailboxes.

Caroline drew an Easter picture.

We also talked about the real meaning of Easter a lot and read a lot of stories about Jesus in the days before his death.

We showed them little scenes from Jesus of Nazareth so they could get a better idea of the Bible stories we were reading.

Funny pictures

This is how I found Clayton napping the other day. My funny boy!

Siesta Key!

My parents and Kevin's parents very graciously and generously watched the kids for the weekend while Kevin and I spent it in Siesta Key, Florida. It was glorious! I have never had such a relaxing vacation! The weather was perfect - sunny and 80s. We swam in the gulf, took long walks on the beach, went out to dinner every night. It was truly perfection. It was a much needed weekend away for recharging our engines, and focusing on eachother as husband and wife instead of mama and daddy. Thank you to BB and Papa for letting us stay at your beautiful condo and for taking in three boarders at your house!
The pictures aren't great - 2 not-very-photogenic people + a camera that is having major issues. Here they are anyway, so you can get a glimpse of our time away.

Spring Staycation

For spring break, we had a "staycation". We tried to do a lot of outings to make it more special than just a regular week. Last Monday, we went to the Kohl's Childrens Museum with BB. All three kids are at the perfect age to enjoy it. It was the first time that all 3 kids got to go! Yeah! The highlights were the little grocery store, play - PotBellys, sitck-your-hand-in-the-pins (or whatever you call it), and, or course, the WATER room! The kids got drenched!

Lunch at the real Potbellys

On Wednesday, we went to JumpZone where the kids could jump, climb, and slide to their heart's content.

And little Austin was able to keep up with the big kids! Yeah!

On Thursday, we got a special carryout lunch at one of the kids' favorite restaurants. Korean chapchae!

On Friday, we took an excursion to Bass Pro Shop where the kids got to see real bears, moose, deer (all taxidermied, of course.) The got to see the waterfall and enormous fish tank with all the large catfish and bass. They got to climb on ATVs, climb in tents, and ride a carousel.

Friday night, Daddy met us out for sushi, and then a trip to the ice cream shop.

Sunday night, we had an evening of family fellowship and worship with the Seiwerts. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures. We capped off our spring break with a service project. The kids made paper flowers and then handed them out to some elderly ladies at a local nursing home.
