Road trip to Florida!

We decided to attempt our first ever roadtrip to Florida! Because we found the 21 hour drive a little daunting, we decided to break it up and stop in Woodstock, Georgia for the night.
My in-laws graciously lent us their minivan for the trip and we were all thankful for the extra space!
It was a long and FLAT drive through the entire state of Indiana along I-65. The only highlight was when the windmill farm popped up and you were suddenly surrounded by hundreds of wind turbines.
As we entered Kentucky, the flat of Indiana morphed into lush, green rolling hills. Then into Tennessee and through mountains. We made it to Georgia and stopped for a quick visit with Kevin's good friend Adam and his wife Krystal.  This was our longest driving leg. Because of traffic, we drove 13 straight hours!

Clayton's initials spotted along the route.

For dinner, YELP directed us to a dive bar in Woodstock called Semper Fi. Because the boys were wearing Blackhawks shirts, the manager asked where we were from. "Chicago", we replied. "Where in Chicago?" "Oh, the northern suburbs." "Where in the northern suburbs?" he asked. When we told him "Libertyville", he told us that he had lived in Libertyville for a few years. We came to find out that he lived a block away from where we live. He had actually lived in our neighborhood!  Upon hearing this, he called several family members to tell them who had just walked into his restaurant. What are the odds that in a tiny town in Georgia, we would meet someone that lived in our neighborhood in Libertyville!

Onward...after a night in Georgia, we continued our trek south - through Georgia and down half of FLorida. The kids really did extremely well. We only watched 1 movie during the entire 2 day drive south!

We arrived in Siesta Key after dark Wednesday night and the kids jumped right in the pool. Heavenly!

Getting this group picture is REALLY challenging!
