Get Well Card

We have been praying every night for one of the Sunday School teachers at our church that has cancer and is undergoing treatment.
One day, Caroline decided that she wanted to make him a Get Well card.  She went into her room and worked for a little while, and then came back with this card. I was SO touched by her card and so proud of her. :)

Easter

Easter Egg Hunt and Cookie Decorating at church

After church, we went to BB and Papa's for a fabulous Easter brunch.

"Stained Glass WIndow"

The kids and I made a "stained glass window", which is essentially black or colored poster board with shapes cut out and crepe paper glued over the holes. When the sun shines through the crepep paper, it looks simiar to a stained glass window.

Spring Staycation

For our spring staycation, we did a bunch of in-town activies.
I finally took the boys to the C&A Lego factory in Libertyville, while Caroline had a sleepover and downtown American Girl doll store date with her grandma BB!

We all went to Blast Zone - a HUGE hit with the kids. Climbing jungle gyms with slides, jumpy houses, trampolines, foam pits, go-cart bathtubs that you can race.  I tried to take a picture while driving Austin around in the bathtub, but apparently driving and iphone-picture-taking is not a good idea.

We had a downtown lunch and play date with Tia Erica, Eva, and Sofia.

Then BB and Papa took the boys for a sleepover and Green Bay cafe breakfast

while Caroline, Kevin, and I had a sushi dinner date with ice cream to top off the evening. Fun! It was so wonderful to spend some quality one-on-one time with my girl!

Poor Kevin had to work a ton that week (and weekend), but we still had a great time.

Parties!

We had a few of Austin's preschool friends over for a little lion/jungle/african party.

We played games (like this one where they gathered picture cutouts of leaves, zebras, and bananas, and then fed them to the appropriate animal.)
We did a few action songs and a lion craft.

And we ate lion cake!

For party favors, the kids got bags of animal crackers and these mini drawing-on-the-go kits.
The next morning, we had the family over for a birthday brunch.

Happy 4th Birthday Austin!
