Model Train Expo

One of our Christmas break outings was to the Model Train Show at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
In addition to selling all kinds of model trains (which come in 6 different sizes), tracks, accessories, model cars, flying helicopters, and a bunch of other hobby stuff, they had a number of displays set up. the kids got to see a variety of model train setups, including a town and train set all made out of legos.

legos

The majority of Christmas break this year was spent on legos - building the sets the kids have gotten in the past and taken apart somewhere along the way, building new sets, organizing existing legos, and just playing with their creations.  Legos are usually confined to the basement, but they got a free pass this December to overtake the entire house...even the living room!

Pictures from Austin's school Christmas party, Caroline Piano, and boys singing...

Caroline playing Silent Night on the piano

The boys singing the song they sang for the school Christmas program. For some reason, when I asked to tape them singing it, they said yes (which they would NOT normally do!)
