Museum of Science and Industry

I took the kids to the Museum of Science and Industry the first Monday of March. (It was a free day! Awesome! We saved $70 by going on a free day and parking on the street! To check out more free days at Chicago area museums, click here.)

They had an exhibit where they displayed different mechanical things taken apart so you can see all of their pieces....ummm...yes, this exhibit was made for Clayton!
Caroline "playing" the piano by jumping on each different colored light.

 Hmmm...I look kinda funny!

Standing in front of a real life German submarine. Wow!
Playing at the "Idea Station", a must for young kids!
"Come and take a ride on my big red tractor..." (Sorry - had to put a line from a country song in there.)

The model train exhibit is amazing. It is double the size that it was when I was a kid. They now have full replicas of downtown Chicago - with a working El and all, and downtown Seattle. The kids LOVED this.
Watching baby chicks hatch, always a fan favorite.
Climbing on a real live jet plane that is somehow suspended from the ceiling.

It was a big day for Austin and he was pooped!

The experience was fantastic. We saw so much more than the pictures show. There is so much to see. We only grazed the surface. Once the kids are older, we need to go back with someone who is a science whiz so we can take full advantage of all the exhibits!
