Ice Skating

Caroline and I have watched a little figure skating on T.V., and we've read a few books that mention ice skating. She really wanted to try it, so Caroline and I went with a friend and her son Bryce.

At first, Caroline was extremely cautious and clung to the wall with a death grip, inching along literally inch by inch.  It was a lot harder than she had expected.

She started to enjoy herself a little more once she got used to being on slippery ice.
Glenview ice arena has these awesome "ice walkers" that kids can use when learning to skate. It was perfect! She was able to get off the wall and slowly move around the ice.
She got a little more adventurous at the end and let go of both wall and walker. Unfortunately, she ended up falling and smacking her head on the ice.  Luckily, she wasn't turned off completely to ice skating. She said she'd like to try it maybe one more time.    Sounds good to me. :)
