We had a "preview of summer" sunny day yesterday, so we broke out the baby pool. The kids had a blast playing in the water!

Last day of school

Today was Caroline's last day of school. I can't believe that my little girl has finished
her first year of school. In a lot of ways, time really has flown. My little girl is growing up!

My sister Meredith and her husband Dan are expecting their first baby!!!! We are all SSOOOOOO excited!!!!!

Clayton's shenanigans

I don't know if it is because he is a boy, or if it is just his big personality developing, but Clayton is into everything! Let's see...what are his latest shenanigans...
- shaking the dustbuster to get the crumbs out and then eating them (I caught him in the act and quickly removed it from his possession. I can't even imagine the concoction of disgustingness that he was eating. So gross.)
- Sticking his finger in the sauce of his pizza and then smearing one line on one cheek and another line on his other. He was very deliberate about the one line on each cheek. He looked like a little indian. And where did he learn to put on warpaint? I have NO idea. It's not like we watch cowboys & indians programming. ?!?
- Stealing the diaper cream and rubbing it on his cheeks while smiling and saying "LOTION!"
(and of course diaper cream is thick and sticky and very hard to wash off. )
- sneaking into the pantry and pulling out just about anything in a box and then trying to cram as much of the food into his mouth as he can before getting caught.

Austin turns 6 weeks!

Austin turned 6 weeks old and now knows how to smile. His whole face lights up and it absolutely melts my heart every time I see it.

He looks so peaceful when he sleeps. (He, of course, LOVES to sleep while being held. He is definitely a snuggler.)

It's kind of funny. I don't know where he picked it up, but Clayton only calls him by his full name now. "Austin Michael!" he'll exclaim when he sees him. Speaking of Clayton, he has been my little "crash cargo" lately. His poor forehead is covered in bruises- old and new. He is constantly crashing head first into door frames, chairs, walls, toys, etc. He is also obsessed with yanking the tubes out of my breast pump, playing with the vacuum, swiffer, and broom and dragging them EVERYWHERE (I hope a career in the custodial arts is not in his future!), and throwing a ball (yes - about the only toy he actually plays with for more than 2 seconds.)

Godsisters Sofia and Eva turn TWO! We went to their birthday party last week and had tons of fun!

Spring!

We finally had a really warm day when we could leave jackets inside. Hurray!The big kids really enjoyed playing outside. They ran around, collected pinecones, went down the slide (which of course Clayton tried to do with the big broom,) and drew with chalk.

Even the little man made it outside. Here he is inside doing tummy time.

Poor little thing has had a terrible case of baby acne, but more pictures of him will be posted once it is cleared up!

Fat pants!

Today is a good day. I was able to get into my "fat pants"! Yes, normally a girl does not celebrate when she has put on some lbs and must wear the dreaded fat pants. However, when you are moving from MATERNITY pants to fat pants, they seem like a reward. No elastic waist. No maternity band. No drawstring. Hurray! Sure, it will be quite a while before I fit into my regular pants, but for now I am happily enjoying regular button-front pants a size or 2 larger!

You forget how snuggly and cuddly newborn babies are. There is nothing sweeter than watching him sleep on my chest, as comfy as can be.

My funny little bug...he has fascinations with such odd things. He is absolutely wacko over brooms. He flips out with excitement every time he sees one in a book. If we even go near the garage (which is where he have ours), he begs for me to get it for him. He loves to drag it around. Here he is going on a walk with BB and a broom.
