Trip to Milwaukee - August 10th

Because it was Clayton's "golden birthday", (eight on 8/8), we decided to take an overnight trip to Milwaukee, stay at a hotel, and check out a cool museum on the lakefront.

We had dinner at The Rumpus Room, which was excellent. The kids loved their meals and Kevin and I thoroughly enjoyed being at a restaurant that didn't have a kids menu.

We stayed at the old-world style Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.

There was a pool on the top floor with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan.

In the morning, we went to the Discovery Museum. Clayton was in heaven exploring pulleys and mechanisms.

We all got to try a flight simulator.  It's definitely harder than it looks!

They have a replica schooner that takes people out on Lake cruises.  We didnt have time this trip, but maybe next time!

We learned all about water filtration and the saw a cool model of the Great Lakes.

All in all, it was a great trip!
